I have been asked whether I had a poster specifically for the Psychomotor domain. I do now!
This domain is one of the most neglected by course designers in higher education because it is wrongly attributed to purely manual training. In fact it covers all manner of dexterity and manipulation skills, including software, databases, laboratory instruments and much more. I hope designers will find this of interest.
I’ve fielded queries recently about what happened to the high-quality JPGs of individual domains scattered cross blog posts and pages over recent years. Truth is I have been tidying up the media directory and removed many of them. Instead the most recent versions have been made available as downloadable PNGs on the Courseware pages.
Psychomotor Domain Educational Poster — Matte Horizontal A2
A2 poster that illustrates Atkinson’s 2012 reversioning of Dave’s original 1967/70 Psychomotor Domains alongside those of Simpson (1972) and Harrow (1977). Atkinson’s circular representation suggests active verbs that should inform the drafting of well-formed learning outcomes. The outer circle illustrates potential evidence or assessment forms.
