How do Sijen courses work? (FAQ)

Video Transcript

Below are some frequently asked questions.

Who is running these courses?

Dr Simon Paul Atkinson PFHEA is the creator and moderator of these online courses. If you are enrolled in an institutional version of the course, you may find additional moderators are present.

What do I need to Study?

Courses require stable internet access and the ability to watch embedded Mp4 including sound. Most modern browsers are suitable. If you choose to download the handouts, these are all in PDF format and a PDF reader is required.

Are these Online Courses available for Institutions?

Yes. Institutions can be granted access to any or all courses at a rate that is negotiated based on the size of the institutions and where in the world they operate. Please make your enquiry using the form entitled ‘institutional interest‘, which is available here.

Can I use them in my own practice?

You are invited, indeed encouraged, to make use of everything you learn in enhancing your own practice. However, please respect the ownership of these works and do not download, copy or distribute them. Publicly available resources are available elsewhere on this website and on my YouTube channel and these are free for anyone to use.

How are the Courses priced?

Prices reflect the time spent preparing them as well as the value attributed to Simon’s more than 25 year’s experience in academic development. They represent a discount on most face-to-face in-person workshops delivered on the same themes. If you would prefer to organise in-person webinars instead please see the relevant pages here.

Can I get a discount?

My intention is to make my experience as widely accessible whilst still making a living. If you live in a country where there is little academic development support and you wish to enhance your personal academic practice, I would encourage you to ask your institution to contact me. They can use the form entitled ‘institutional interest‘ which is available here. Institutional rates will differ depending on where in the world they are based.

Can I get a refund?

Course fees can only be refunded within 24 hours of registration. This should give you time to work out whether the course meets your expectations. After that, no refunds will be issued. If you wish to claim a refund, please use the refund application form available here.
