This badge is awarded on successful completion of the course “Designing Effective Intended Learning Outcomes” (ILO). The course is an asynchronous self-regulated course for faculty who are faced with the challenge of designing, or revising, courses and programmes and want to come to terms with the role that ILOs play in enhancing their learning and teaching. It explores not only the nature of well-structured intended learning outcomes, but also the role that multiple educational domains and their associated taxonomies play in crafting them. It also examines the context in which ILOs are written, and their role in creating good assessments and course designs.
